Xpect Inx launches bioprinting materials for Nanoscribe systems



Our partner Xpect Inx®, a spin-off of the Ghent University in Belgium, launches the N100 series with hydrogels and biodegradable photoresins for high-precision 3D printing promising applications in a wide range of fields such as cell cultivation, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and biology. All the printing materials in the N100 series are specifically designed for Nanoscribe’s microfabrication systems.

With decades of experience in the academic research on polymers and biomaterials, Xpect Inx is developing bioprinting materials. The new N100 series in the company’s portfolio includes three bioprinting materials that are dedicated to the high-precision 3D printing with Nanoscribe systems:

  • The hydrogel Hydrobio INX N100 is biodegradable and enables printing cell interactive materials. It is thus beneficial for tissue engineering with tissue that resembles the natural extracellular matrix
  • The hydrogel Hydrotech INX N100 is mechanically robust and promising for sophisticated life sciences applications requiring the soft properties of a hydrogel
  • The biodegradable polyester Degrad INX N100 is highly elastic and thus the optimal choice for driving applications in tissue engineering and life sciences that require a flexible printing material
  • All the high-quality bioprinting materials bring tissue engineering and regenerative medicine one step closer to clinical practice. “The new Xpect Inx N100 series opens up new possibilities to work out of the box in bioapplications with Nanoscribe microfabrication systems. Our first internal cell cultivation test in 3D-printed microwells made of Hydrobio INX N100 worked flawlessly and cultivated cells accepted the printed material as a natural environment”, Dr. Alexander Quick, Head of Materials at Nanoscribe, summarizes the potentials of the new biomaterials.
